For Participants

Participating in GBPDC

Researchers are trying to identify the role that the gut-brain axis, the group of nerves that connect the brain and gut, plays in Parkinson’s disease. We want to learn how people in all stages of Parkinson's disease experience symptoms to help us diagnosis Parkinson's sooner.

You may be a good fit or this study if you:

  • Are an adult living with Parkinson’s disease
  • Are at risk for Parkinson’s disease
  • Are a caregiver for someone living with Parkinson’s disease

If you participate in the study, you may:

  • Meet with a medical provider about 8 times during a 2-year period either at the study center or virtually
  • Complete questionnaires
  • Give samples of blood, stool, saliva, and skin
  • Have X-rays
  • Complete GI-related procedures
  • Complete neurological and GI-related assessments
  • Be compensated for your time
